ICPC recovers, restrains over N600bn assets in September — NOA

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered and restrained assets valued at more than N600 billion in September, according to the National Orientation Agency.

NOA Director-General, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, disclosed this on Monday during the Monthly National Joint Security Briefing in Abuja. He said the anti-graft body recovered N446 billion, secured court orders to restrain N142 billion, and seized N30 billion in cash during the month under review.

Issa-Onilu added that the agency concluded nine investigations, secured three convictions, and received 19 petitions from the public through both physical and digital platforms.

He further noted that the ICPC organised 77 sensitisation workshops reaching over 41,000 participants, including state attorneys-general, and established eight Anti-Corruption Transparency Units in government institutions to promote accountability.

According to him, these efforts demonstrate the government’s continued drive to strengthen transparency and combat corruption nationwide.
