The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared a remarkable testimony about how he handled luxury gifts during the early days of his ministry.
Speaking at a recent thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye recounted being surprised when an elderly woman gifted him a Mercedes Benz while he was still commuting by bus.
“I almost said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I was worried it might cause trouble for me,” he said. Initially, he avoided using the car, unsure of how to handle such generosity.

However, he later had a dream in which God cautioned him, saying, “Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing?”
Acting on the divine instruction, he gave the car to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun, who advised him to enjoy it. Pastor Adeboye, however, insisted on giving it away.
The testimony took an even more astonishing turn when Pastor Adeboye revealed how he handled a rare six-door Mercedes limousine delivered to his home at 2:00 a.m., with the sender claiming it was by God’s instruction.
After careful prayer, he decided to sell the vehicle, saying, “I sold it and used the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors.”
This act has become a powerful example of humility and generosity, with many inspired by how Adeboye sold limousine for pastors instead of keeping it for personal luxury.
Pastor Adeboye’s story emphasizes the importance of using blessings to serve others. He recalled that soon after, he received three more Mercedes cars, yet he still chose to prioritize giving over personal indulgence.
The lesson remains clear: Adeboye sold limousine for pastors to bless others, showing that true leadership involves sacrificial generosity.
Today, the testimony continues to inspire church members and beyond, proving that material gifts, when stewarded with faith, can have a lasting impact.
Adeboye sold limousine for pastors, turning what could have been a symbol of personal luxury into a means of serving and empowering others.
