Hilda Baci moves world’s largest jollof rice event to Eko Hotel

Popular Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has revealed a change of venue for her much-anticipated attempt to cook the World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice, scheduled for Friday, September 12th, 2025.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, September 10th, Baci shared that the event has been moved from Gbagada to Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. The shift comes after over 20,000 people registered to attend, prompting the move to ensure proper safety and accommodate the large crowd.

In a previous clip, Hilda Baci revealed that she would be using 250 bags of Basmati rice for the Guinness World Record attempt. She also promised that everyone in attendance would receive free food.

“The love has been overwhelming ❤️ So many of you registered to be part of this historic moment, and our first venue couldn’t contain the energy! 🌍🔥 We’re moving to a bigger space so EVERYONE can experience this celebration with me,” she wrote.

Baci added, “At 4 AM this morning, our pot was safely transported from Gbagada to Eko Hotel, where the event is taking place. I’m still pinching myself—this is actually happening in less than 24 hours!”
