Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has presented a ₦415.57 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
The proposal, tagged the “Budget of Impactful Governance,” includes ₦221.87 billion for recurrent spending and ₦193.70 billion for capital projects. It represents an 11 per cent increase over the 2025 budget of ₦375.79 billion.
Speaking at the presentation in Ado-Ekiti, the governor said the 2026 plan would complete ongoing infrastructure projects and expand investments in agriculture, job creation, and social welfare across the State.

He explained that the budget would be funded through federal allocations, Value Added Tax, internally generated revenue, and donor support. Oyebanji said it was prepared after wide consultations with traditional rulers, community leaders, and civil society groups across Ekiti State.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability. He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for supporting the State through several federal initiatives that have boosted development and reduced poverty.
Speaker of the House, Adeoye Aribasoye, said lawmakers would review the proposal carefully to ensure it meets the needs of the people.
