A woman has been arrested after she was caught on CCTV trying to set fire to the Grace Mountain Ministries auditorium in Accra, home to Pastor Elvis Agyemang’s Alpha Hour prayer sessions.
The incident happened on Monday, February 9, when the church was mostly empty.
According to reports, the woman pretended to join prayers before pouring a flammable liquid on chairs near the altar and setting them on fire.
Church security noticed the fire on CCTV and acted quickly. They arrested the woman and put out the flames before major damage occurred. The suspect has been handed over to police for investigation.
Pastor Elvis Agyemang said all physical prayer meetings at the auditorium are now suspended. “This will not stop us. We will fix the place, and prayers will continue,” he said, adding that the ministry has faced attacks before, including incidents involving powders and strange substances.
