First Lady Aisha Buhari who turned up with other All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains for the party’s rally for the governorship election scheduled to hold in Kogi State on November 16, begged residents of the state to forgive Governor Yahaya Bello stating that he was unable to pay salaries because of the verification exercise that was organised for civil servants in the state.
She further stated that the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello will ensure the continuity in payment of salaries on time.
“My husband used to emphasise on salaries, it took a while for the Kogi salary payment to get settled after a long time of verification.

Yahaya Bello who was called on the podium by the President’s wife to back her statement on payment of salaries, said;
“We have been paying on time. “The civil servants can attest to that.
“Your Excellency, you directed, you supported and we cleared the salary arrears and we shall continue to pay on time.”
This came just after Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai knelt down to beg Kogi residents to forgive Governor Yahaya Bello over his mistakes.
