A fire outbreak was reported late Monday night at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) headquarters in Marina, Lagos, with multiple videos circulating online showing flames and smoke around the building.
In the clips, bystanders are heard expressing concern as the incident unfolded, with some suggesting the structure was on fire. The exact cause of the blaze and the extent of damage remain unclear as of the time of filing this report. No casualties have been reported.
Reactions have trailed the incident on social media, with several users questioning safety measures at the facility.
One user, @Bro_Jbee, wrote, “UBA needs to consider risk and hazard assessment. It has always been UBA for some time now.”

Another, @kingharry_ng, criticised what he described as repeated incidents, saying, “This same building again? Nawa o.”
Concerns were also raised about the safety of customers’ funds, with @Biggy0147 posting, “Nothing should happen to my money.”
As of now, there has been no official statement from UBA, the Lagos State Police, or the bank’s CEO, Tony Elumelu, regarding the incident.
