Actress Laide Bakare has sparked fresh reactions online after denying claims that she introduced her teenage daughter to alcohol, despite her earlier video suggesting otherwise.
The Nollywood star recently faced backlash after boasting in a now-viral clip that she gave her 17-year-old daughter, @simlineboss, her first clubbing and alcohol experience to mark her birthday.
However, in a new post shared on Instagram, Laide appeared to backtrack, insisting she never mentioned giving her daughter alcohol.
“No pls, I didn’t do Alcohol with @simlineboss, only club, and it’s just to give her a bit of exposure towards the future. I’m not as bad as you think. Don’t forget she is still a minor. A teenager with robust figure,”
she wrote.
Reiterating her stance, the actress added in another post:

“Let me mention clearly here that I never said I introduced my daughter, @simlineboss, to Alcohol. I only stated that she entered club with me for the very first time in her life at her birthday after-party. How is that bad naw?”

The clarification comes after widespread criticism from fans who accused her of poor parenting and setting the wrong example for a minor.
While some netizens accepted her explanation, others pointed out that her earlier video told a different story, questioning why she would expose a teenager to nightlife in the first place.
