According to the prosecution, Evans and his accomplice were allegedly involved in the killing of two police officers during one of their kidnapping operations in Lagos.

Evans, widely known for his high-profile kidnapping cases, is currently standing trial in five separate criminal cases involving kidnapping and murder. He has already been convicted in two of those cases.

The re-arraignment comes just days after President Bola Tinubu granted presidential clemency to some convicted criminals across the country, sparking renewed public interest in ongoing high-profile cases.

The case has been adjourned for further hearing, while both defendants remain in custody.
