Europe trip: Sowore alleges Tinubu unwell, questions health status

Activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unwell, following the President’s trip to Europe on Sunday.

Sowore made the claim while reacting to reports that Tinubu departed Lagos for Europe earlier today, raising fresh concerns about the health status of Nigeria’s top political leaders.

According to Sowore, the President is “just managing himself,” a situation he described as troubling for a country as large and complex as Nigeria. He also extended his criticism to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, alleging that he is seriously ill.

Questioning why Nigeria continues to be governed by leaders battling health challenges, Sowore stressed that while there is nothing wrong with being ill, it is wrong to use the country as a “health insurance scheme” for sick leaders who routinely seek medical care abroad.

He argued that leadership requires physical and mental fitness, adding that Nigerians deserve transparency and accountability regarding the health of those entrusted with governing the country.
