The terrible tragedy that killed a groom and others is still being treated at Agbata Memorial Hospital, Adani, in Enugu State’s Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area.
When Hon. Celestine Nnadozie, the chairman of the council, visited the hospital on Wednesday, August 31, the resident physician, Dr. Agbata, revealed this.
Following his customary wedding, the groom, Obinna Dieke, and five of his relatives passed away on August 27 in Eka Utara, an Adani community in the state’s Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area.
Eight further people, including his bride, mother, and sister, were taken by ambulance to the hospital where they are being treated.

According to the doctor, the adults among them are quickly responding to treatment while the affected youngsters have totally healed.
Dr. Agbata continued to be upbeat, saying that everyone will soon make a full recovery.
While expressing his sorrow, Hon. Nnadozie thanked God for ensuring the survival of the other family members and asked them to put their trust in him because he is the one who knows what is best.
At the chairman’s request, pathologists have now been dispatched to the Aru Ike Ndi Oria mortuary, where the remains were interred, to gather samples for autopsies.
