Four of my associates arrested, I may be next – El-Rufai

El-Rufai deserves all the treatment from Tinubu govt — Isaac Fayose

Nigerian businessman, Isaac Fayose, has stated that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, merits the treatment he is facing from the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.

Recall that El-Rufai is under investigation over an alleged N432 billion corruption scandal linked to his time in office.

Writing on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Fayose revealed that he refused to participate in a protest demanding El-Rufai’s release, maintaining that the former governor “deserves all he gets.”

He accused El-Rufai of turning Kaduna State into a “Muslim state” during his administration, alleging that Christians were marginalised.

Fayose claimed that before El-Rufai’s tenure, previous governors had maintained a tradition of appointing Christians as deputy governors, but said the former governor “scattered everything.”

The businessman further distanced himself from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party that now accommodates a coalition of opposition figures, including El-Rufai, declaring that he would never become a member.

However, he reaffirmed his support for the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

“El-Rufai turned Kaduna into a Muslim-Muslim state, the Christians became vulnerable. I’m not and will never be a member of ADC,” Fayose said.

“I belong only to the ‘Nigerian party.’ I go for what is good for Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi.”
