The Senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, on Friday slumped as he entered the Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters in Abuja.
Dino had surrendered to the Police after an eight-day siege on his Abuja residence, after which he was driven to the Force headquarters, Abuja, in a Police convoy. Read here
In a video by Channels Television, Melaye is seen being helped into the vehicle by some people around him, with some saying, “Give him water.”
On arrival at the Force HQ, the video shows him being helped out of the vehicle by two persons who take him into an office, where he is laid on the floor.
A female voice could be heard saying, “What sort of trouble is this?” in pidgin English.

While his helpers try to get him to sit up, he makes distress sounds and an inhaler was offered and administered, but he appears to be wheezing.
However, the police have said Senator Dino Melaye was admitted in their hospital in Abuja, adding that his health was stable in the hospital.
Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, in a statement, Friday evening, said the senator would be arrained in court only on conclusion of investigation in the case brought against him.
“Senator Dino Melaye is currently in Police custody for investigation, and subsequently, taken to Police hospital, Abuja for medical attention and he is in stable condition.
“Investigation into the case of criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide against him is on-going.
“The case will be taken to court on completion of investigation,” he said in the statement.
