Chelsea come from behind to defeat West Ham 3–2

Chelsea produced a dramatic late comeback to beat West Ham 3–2 in a London derby at Stamford Bridge, with captain Enzo Fernandez scoring the winning goal in stoppage time.

The Blues went into the break trailing 2–0 after first-half strikes from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville. Their poor display in the opening 45 minutes drew boos from the home crowd as they left the pitch at half-time.

Chelsea responded strongly after the restart. Joao Pedro reduced the deficit to ignite the comeback before Marc Cucurella powered in a header to level the score and set up a tense finish.

Fernandez then completed the turnaround with a decisive 92nd-minute strike, sparking celebrations among the home fans. It was the first time in the Premier League era that Chelsea have recovered from two goals down at half-time to win a match.

Tempers flared late on, with West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo sent off for violent conduct as the contest ended in heated scenes.

The match, which head coach Liam Rosenior had described as Chelsea’s “biggest game of the season,” showcased the team’s resilience as they secured another important victory. The result moves Chelsea up to fourth place in the Premier League, above Manchester United.

Rosenior has now guided Chelsea to six wins in seven matches across all competitions since replacing Enzo Maresca. He also became only the fourth English manager to win his first three Premier League games, joining Bobby Gould, Sam Allardyce and Craig Shakespeare.

The victory follows Chelsea’s midweek comeback win over Napoli in the Champions League and adds to their growing momentum. Attention now shifts to Tuesday’s League Cup semi-final second leg, where Chelsea will seek to overturn a 3–2 deficit against league leaders Arsenal.
