Afrobeats star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has converted to Islam, according to his close associate, Tiamiu Kayode, better known as Rahman Jago.
The development followed a viral clip showing the Grammy-winning singer using Islamic expressions such as “Allahu Akbar” and “Mashallah,” which sparked speculation about his religious status.
Reacting to the video, former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, raised questions about the singer’s religion, noting that some individuals close to Burna Boy claimed he had converted, although there was no direct confirmation from him at the time.

In a post on X on Thursday, Ahmad wrote, “Some people close to him said he converted to Islam, but there has been no official confirmation directly from him yet.”
However, responding to the enquiries, Rahman Jago stated that Burna Boy has converted and is now a Muslim, putting to rest the uncertainty surrounding the ‘Last Last’ crooner’s religion.
Quoting Ahmad’s tweet, Rahman Jago tweeted, “He converted. He is now a Muslim.”
