BREAKING: Tinubu nominates Taiwo Oyedele as Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, as Minister of State for Finance.

The nomination was disclosed in a statement issued by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that Oyedele will replace Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka in the Ministry of Finance.

Dr. Anite-Uzoka has been reassigned to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third portfolio under the current administration.

According to the statement, a formal request seeking Oyedele’s confirmation has been transmitted to the Senate for consideration.

Oyedele, 50, is an economist, chartered accountant and public policy expert with extensive experience in fiscal reforms. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

He has also completed executive programmes at the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Before his nomination, Oyedele spent 22 years at PwC, where he rose to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. He is currently a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and serves as a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
