The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the timetable and schedule for the 2027 general elections.
At a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the Chairman of the Commission, Joash Amupitan, dismissed earlier reports claiming that the electoral body had already released the timetable.

Amupitan said the announcement was made in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended).
He stated that the presidential election will be held on February 20, 2027, while the governorship, senatorial, and other elections will take place on March 6, 2027.
