The Benue State government says the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has unfrozen its bank accounts.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, Mr Terver Akase, confirmed this to Channels Television in an interview on Thursday.

It will be recalled that the EFCC had earlier frozen the bank accounts of the Benue State government domiciled in three banks. The action, which the state government described as part of alleged plots to frustrate its efforts after Governor Ortom left the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was gathered that the freezing of the accounts by the anti-graft agency was a result of investigations which indicated alleged abuse of Benue State’s security funds.
