The governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, has applauded community leaders in the state for their contributions and supports toward community development and good governance.
The governor, who was represented by Permanent Secretary Ministry of Housing, Architect Foluso Dipe made the remark on the occasion of 2017 Community Day Celebration at Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area on Wednesday .
Other dignitaries at the event were the Vice Chairman Egbe Idimu LCDA Hon. Mutiu Adebiyi, the Council Manager Mr Tunde Ojikutu, the Leader of the House -Hon Taiwo Lasisi, Heads of Departments and Heads of Units, members of the Legislative Council,Supervisory Councillors and community leaders from various community development areas in Egbe Idimu.
In his address, the Community Development Committee Chairman, Chief J. O Akinsanya, thanked the governor for his demonstration of outstanding leadership showcased in various policies and projects like the monthly Advisory Council meeting with state officials, the Cleaner Lagos Initiative and rebranding of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) among others.
Chief Akinsanya urged members of the community not to cease in their support and cooperation with government across all levels noting that their input is key for efficient service delivery, particularly at the grassroots.
