The agrofood and printplastpack convention organised by
fair-trade, a german organisation, starts today.
The three day exhibition and agribusiness discussion
convention, which holds at the Landmark event centre, Victoria Island annex,
Lagos State, would feature about 91 exhibitors from 26 countries who are ready
to discuss business and display technologies on agrofood, food and beverage and
packaging, and about 1,500 visitors are expected to grace the event.
Mr Martin Marz, the Chief Executive officer of Fairtrade,
revealed that the convention was brought to Nigeria in order to afford
professionals in the industry the opportunity to contribute their input to the
growth of the country.

“Our event,
the first International agrofood & plastprintpack Nigeria 2015 Trade Fair,
is about business. It is a B2B platform of technological exchange mainly for
professionals in the agrofood and the packaging sector. The meetings between
the 80+ exhibitors from 21 countries with the Nigerian agrofood professionals
will contribute to a more diverse offering in food products, and an improved
food safety.”
Some of the partners of the convention include the Institute of Packaging Nigeria
(IOPN), the European Union. Nigerian Tribune is also one of the media partners
of the convention.

The theme of the convention is ‘adding value to the
modernisation of the Nigerian food packaging and plastic industry’
