A Nigerian woman says she lost a wealthy suitor after asking him to get her permission before calling.

She told a viral video that the man got her number through her mother during a visit to Alaba market in Lagos. A trader reportedly saw her photo on her mum’s phone and requested her contact.

At first, their texting went well. But on the third day, she said the man called suddenly in the morning. “naso him just call me for morning. He did not even say anything. just piam,” she said.

She asked him to always ask before calling next time. “before you call me next time, ask for permission,” she said.

Immediately after, the man blocked her. “naso I just see blocked,” she added.

She stressed she did not want an argument. “simple thing I was not even fighting you,” she said.

The video sparked mixed reactions online. @Dr_Pharouk mocked her, saying: “So, make I ask for permission before I can call you? Lmao, you’re not ready 😂😂 This thing pain her.” @AmarachiOnunkwo added: “Her mind go soon dey. 😂 Men are scarce ooooo. I pray it won’t be too late for you to comprehend.”

Others defended her, saying it was normal to set boundaries. @Adathefinegirl wrote: “He should at least asked her if she’s free to talk. Courtesy demands that.”
