A woman has reportedly called off her wedding just two days before the ceremony following a conversation with her future mother-in-law.
According to the account, the bride-to-be had been invited to a private meeting by her prospective mother-in-law, where the family’s views on marriage were discussed.
During the meeting, the older woman explained that monogamy was not practised in their family, noting that having multiple wives was common. She referred to her own marriage and that of other family members to support the position.
“My mother-in-law told me that if I still wanted to marry her son, I should understand that in their family, they don’t believe in one wife,” the woman said.

She added that she was told her fiancé could have children outside the marriage and that it would not be regarded as cheating within the family.
The woman also said she was informed that her future husband did not necessarily need to be consulted, as he would follow his mother’s direction.
“She said her son does not even need to be informed because he will do what she says,” she recounted.
