The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied reports claiming that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has resigned, describing the allegation as false and malicious.
In a statement issued by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party labelled the report “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by what it called “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”
The ADC reaffirmed that Senator Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, stressing that neither he nor the party’s leadership has considered any form of resignation.
Reiterating its commitment to democratic principles, the party urged Nigerians to ignore the rumours and maintain confidence in its leadership and stability.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement read.
The party further maintained that its leadership remains united and focused on strengthening democratic values while offering credible leadership to Nigerians.
It also cautioned against attempts to destabilise the party, attributing such moves to fears over the ADC’s growing influence and evolving political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
