Lagos: Woman claims locked up in apartment for four days, cries for help

A woman has raised alarm online, alleging that she was locked inside an apartment in Lagos for four days after travelling from Port Harcourt to visit a man she met.

In a 100-second video posted early February 21, the woman claimed the trip, which she said was meant to last four days, turned into a traumatic experience when she attempted to leave.

According to her, the man, identified as Destiny, invited her to Lagos with the assurance that her stay would be brief. “Obinna invited me for four days,” she said in the clip, adding that he allegedly became violent when she told him she wanted to return home.

She further alleged, “I have been locked inside,” claiming she was prevented from leaving the apartment and subjected to intimidation and repeated assaults.

In the video, the woman, who appeared visibly distressed, briefly showed a man standing at the door. A caption on the footage described him as “a woman beater.”

The video has generated mixed reactions on social media, with many users urging security agencies to intervene, while others questioned aspects of the recording and referenced past online incidents, including the Mirabel case.

As of 9 a.m. UTC, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued any statement regarding the allegations, and the accused individual had yet to respond publicly.
