ICPC appoints super strategist, Okesanjo, as first resident consultant for strategy, communications

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has appointed Mrs Temilade Aderemi Okesanjo as its Resident Consultant (Strategy and Communications) in a move aimed at improving institutional coordination, organisational performance and public engagement.

The appointment takes immediate effect and represents the first time the Commission has formally combined Strategy with a Resident Consultant portfolio, reflecting ICPC’s growing focus on prevention, institutional integrity and results-driven governance.

In a statement issued by the Spokesperson and Head of Media and Public Communications, Okor Odey, the Commission said the new role is designed to ensure that strategy is fully embedded in its daily operations, while also improving how its priorities and activities are communicated to stakeholders and the general public.

According to the statement, Mrs Okesanjo will work in two key areas. On Strategy, she will help align the Commission’s priorities, engagements and interventions with its statutory mandate. On Communications, she will strengthen clarity and consistency in how these priorities are conveyed, with the goal of building trust and sustaining public confidence.

Mrs Okesanjo has over 16 years of combined experience in both the public and private sectors. She began her career in financial services at Ecobank Nigeria before moving into public service, where she worked at the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In 2018, she left the civil service to establish Woodford Consulting Company, through which she has led several strategy and implementation advisory projects for public institutions and development-focused organisations.

Over the years, she has provided advisory services at the highest levels of governance in Nigeria, including the Presidency, various ministries, departments and agencies, as well as international organisations. Her work has largely focused on policy implementation, institutional reform and public-sector governance.

The Commission explained that the appointment forms part of its broader plan to strengthen strategic thinking within its operational culture, enhance internal coordination, reinforce preventive measures and ensure that its actions produce measurable and lasting anti-corruption outcomes.

With Mrs Okesanjo joining its leadership support structure, ICPC said it is better positioned to sharpen its strategic direction, improve public engagement and advance its mandate of fighting corruption through prevention, enforcement and systems strengthening.
