2026: Oyebamiji emerges APC Osun governorship candidate

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

Oyebamiji secured the party’s ticket after being unanimously affirmed by 1,660 delegates at the APC governorship primary.

His emergence followed his nomination by one of the aspirants, Mr Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and secondment by another aspirant, Senator Babajide Omoworare.

After the nomination process, the Chairman of the APC primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, called for a voice vote, during which all delegates affirmed Oyebamiji’s candidacy.

“By the power conferred on me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party,” he added.
