BBNaija 2021 ex-housemate Queen Mercy Atang has confirmed that her marriage to David Oyekanmi has ended, just one year after they officially tied the knot.
She revealed her current status on Instagram while responding to a fan who asked about her relationship life.
Queen Mercy Atang and David got legally married in March 2024 in a well-attended ceremony.
In recent months, talks about strain in the marriage surfaced online after popular skit maker Lordlamba claimed that Mercy is his baby mama. He posted photos of himself and his daughter, Princess Keilah, and stated that he welcomed the child with the former BBNaija star. Mercy has previously confirmed she is the child’s mother and often celebrates her daughter publicly, even during her marriage to David.

By August, reports suggested possible trouble between the couple after both were seen to have unfollowed each other on social media. Observers also noted that David stopped wearing his wedding ring, fueling further speculation.
The actress later confirmed the situation in a response to a fan, in a now deleted post, who asked if she was still married while complimenting her looks.
A fan wrote: “Queen, hope you’re still married because Asa, you’re too beautiful to be single.”
Queen replied, confirming her relationship status: “Single and unavailable.”
