Bishop Oyedepo recalls the 1987 marijuana story when someone tried to frame him by planting drugs in his car.

How I was almost set up with marijuana planted in my car — Bishop Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has revealed how he narrowly avoided being framed in 1987 when marijuana was secretly planted in his car.

Speaking in a video circulating on social media, Oyedepo said his former driver, Clifford, uncovered the plot while washing the vehicle.

“Some fellows planted marijuana in my car in those days, 1987, in Kaduna, at the mechanical shop. I’ve never seen it in my life, so I wouldn’t know,” he said.

He explained that Clifford, who had come from Katsina to assist him, noticed the suspicious package while removing the car seat. “Mysteriously, he was removing the seat. I’ve never seen that kind of car wash in my life. He found a freshly wrapped stuff. He opened it.”

Clifford ran to him, visibly shaken. “He said, ‘This is wee-wee.’ I said, ‘What is wee-wee?’ I came to know Jesus early, so I didn’t have the opportunity of knowing such things,” Oyedepo recalled.

Later that night, police stopped him near the spot where the substance had been hidden. “They went to the exact spot where that thing was kept. I said, ‘Shame on you.’ He said, ‘Sorry, sir,’” he added.

Reflecting on the episode, Oyedepo said it strengthened his faith. “This was evidence of God’s power over evil plans,” he said, noting that many innocent people fall victim to similar schemes.
