Uber partners with Starship Technologies, set to launch robot deliveries in UK

Uber will roll out autonomous robot deliveries in the UK this December through a partnership with Starship Technologies, the company announced on Thursday. The service will initially be available to Uber Eats customers in Leeds and Sheffield, with plans to expand to other European markets next year and the U.S. by 2027.

“San Francisco-based Starship’s robots will operate at Level 4 autonomy, which means they can function without human intervention within a specified area,” Uber said.

The move forms part of Uber’s broader push into automation, building on existing partnerships with companies like Avride and Serve Robotics to provide robotic food deliveries in the United States.
