The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested Bishop Ndibueze Okorie Onyeagoziri, General Overseer of Champion the Truth Cathedral, over allegations of repeated sexual intercourse with a 22-year-old female member of his church.
Police spokesperson DSP Joshua Ukandu confirmed the arrest, stating that the cleric was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 1, and remains under investigation.
According to a viral video, the victim claimed she was made to live with the bishop for “divine healing” from her sickle cell condition, following an agreement between him and her family. She alleged that the cleric told her a seven-day sexual encounter with him would change her genotype from SS to AA.

The young woman, who said she lost three siblings to the same condition, explained that desperation led her to comply. However, her health reportedly worsened after the alleged encounters. She further claimed that the bishop threatened to release intimate pictures if she left him, and later discovered her nude photos shared on social media.
In response, Bishop Onyeagoziri denied the allegations, insisting that his phone was stolen earlier in the month and that the explicit images circulating online were “AI-doctored.”
He said:
