Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter, Sola Allyson, has reaffirmed her friendship with Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji, declaring that religion cannot come between them.
Allyson made the statement during her music concert in Lagos, held a few days after her birthday celebration. A viral video from the event captured the moment she invited Adedimeji on stage, drawing loud cheers and applause from the audience.
The pair had previously faced backlash in 2022 over a joint performance, but Allyson dismissed critics, stressing that their bond goes beyond religious differences.
“Lateef is a creative, I am a creative. Religion can’t separate us. Lateef is a child of God, I am a child of God. We see our Father differently, but Lateef is my brother,” she told the audience. “So Lateef is going to sing to us today, and if I know the song, I will sing along. The song will be sweet, and you will be blessed.”

Adedimeji, while addressing the crowd, echoed her sentiments, noting that Allyson’s songs have always inspired him.
“Listening to BBO and Aunty Sola’s songs doesn’t make me less of a Muslim; your songs speak to me just like a Muslim song would. God is a formless entity,” the actor said.
Their public show of friendship has since drawn positive reactions online, with many applauding their unity despite differing religious backgrounds.
