Afrobeat musician David Adeleke, known by his stage name Davido, has disclosed the reason he is interested in the Edo state gubernatorial election.
Davido revealed on Saturday on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that his mother is from Edo State. He also conveyed his displeasure with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the current election.
“My mom is from Edo for those wondering why I’m interested in the election … but we as Nigerians should be concerned sha .. @inecnigeria shame on you I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun ! It’s really bad . God help us.” As he penned.
The musician urged Edo people to follow the election process through to the very end, calling INEC the most dangerous organization in Nigeria.
“The most dangerous institution in Nigeria @inecnigeria …EDP PPLE NO GREE OOO FIGHT TILL FINISH !!!”
He requested INEC to extend the voting period in Edo, pointing out that all eyes will be on the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
“We Dey wait for Osun 2026 … try this nonsense first @inecnigeria. Extend voting time !! @inecnigeria.”
As from the post, he continued: “Make them hungry, then make them sell their votes to survive … when our Mumu go do oooo .. haba.”
