The government has been aggressively asked by the National Labour Congress (NLC) to quickly undo the recent increase in petrol prices throughout Nigeria.
On Tuesday, the NLC made this demand via a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The text of the statement says, “We demand the immediate reversal of the latest increase in the pump price of PMS across the country.”
Remember that after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) increased the official fuel price from N617 to N897 per liter, the NLC previously expressed dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu.
According to NLC President Joe Ajaero, the union only consented to the N70,000 minimum salary under the proviso that fuel costs would not rise any more.
As the current information, he issued a warning, saying that the NLC’s decision-making bodies will soon meet to debate next steps and that the public would be informed of their decisions in the days to come.
