Timothy Dauda, a 19-year-old native the doctor, has been seized by Edo police on suspicion of killing his client, Alex Ezekiel, with a gun during a “anti-bullet” charm trial.
The incidence was verified by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
According to Yamu, the event took place on August 20 in the state’s Akoko Edo Local Government Area’s Onumu Community, which is close to Igara.
He claimed that officers from the Igarra Divisional Police Station in Akoko-Edo had taken the suspect into custody.
According to what NAN has learned, the suspect claimed to be an expert in crafting charms that protect against gunshots and machete slashes.
The dead had gone to the home of the local physician to get the charm, an additional source revealed to NAN.
According to the report, Dauda tried to test the effectiveness of the charm by shooting the customer with a gun “in a shocking turn of events.”
It was said that the charm had failed because he had died from his wounds.
“A medical professional declared him dead when he was taken to a hospital in Igara,” the source added.
As soon as investigations were finished, the suspect would be prosecuted, according to a police representative.
