Bigger breasts are often associated with the ideal of feminine beauty, but do those who have them feel better about their bodies? According to a research in Women’s Health, women who have larger breasts may be less happy with them, report being less happy with their lives, and engage in less physical exercise.
The research paper, “Women with larger breasts are less satisfied with their breasts: Implications for quality of life and participation in physical activity,” was written by the following authors: Julie R. Steele, Vivienne Lewis, Celeste E. Coltman, Deirdre E. McGhee, and Isobel H. Oon.
The survey claims that our society has very high expectations for beauty, which leaves many women unhappy with what they see in the mirror. Negative consequences, like deteriorating mental health, are linked to negative body image. Breast pleasure is a distinct facet of women’s body image perceptions.
