The customised Lamborghini Huracan that was gifted to Pope Francis last November has been sold for a whopping sum of €715,000 ($861,575 or ~N310.6m) at the RM Sotheby’s auction at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo.
Reports said the amount is four times more than the retail price of the vehicle, which is ($199,800) in the U.S.
The Pope had earlier stated that all the proceeds from the sale of the car are going to charity.
The pontiff also explained that 70 percent will go to Nineveh in the Republic of Iraq, a city attacked by a terrorist group, ISIS.
