A teenage goalkeeper, Raul Ramirez Osorio, has died after suffering a head injury during a Spanish league match.
The 19-year-old collapsed on the pitch on Saturday, September 27, after colliding with an opposing forward while attempting to collect a cross in the 60th minute of the game between Colindres and Revilla.
His manager, Rafa de Pena, rushed onto the pitch and administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation with the help of a nursing student watching the match. Raul was revived and taken to Marques de Valdecilla Hospital in Santander but suffered a second cardiac arrest on the way.
