Nigerians have responded to the meeting between Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, and His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, on social media.

On Friday, the former governor of Anambra State paid a visit to the king at his palace in the historic town of Warri, Delta State.

On the occasion of the Olu of Warri’s first anniversary of ascending to the throne, Peter Obi paid him a courtesy call.

Activities commemorating the anniversary of the Olu of Warri continue in Ode-Itsekiri, the Itsekiri family’s ancestral house, with cultural performances and tributes from Itsekiri sons and daughters domestically and internationally.

A thanksgiving service at the Palace Church in Warri is anticipated to round off the week’s activities on Sunday.

Nigerians have reacted to the incident by using the microblogging service Twitter to share their views on the meeting.
