A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attacking two police
officers during violent protests in east London.

The teenager from Islington, north London, who can’t be
named due to his age, will appear at Stratford Youth Court on Monday.

He has been charged with two counts of attempted grievous

The charges relate to ugly scenes on the streets of Dalston
where a protest over the death of a young man descended into violence, Metro
reported.

Rashan Charles, 20, died in police custody last week.
Since the demonstration on Friday evening, Mr Charles’
family have appealed to protesters to remain peaceful.

Stafford Scott, a spokesman for the Charles family, called
