A 15-year-old boy was on Thursday arraigned in a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a neighbour’s motorcycle valued at N170,000.
He denied committing the offence, while the Chief Magistrate, Mr Aro Lambo, granted him bail in the N50,000.
Lambo also ordered him to produce two sureties in like sum.
The defendant, who resides at No. 20, Folarin St., Surulere Lagos, is facing a count charge of stealing.
Lambo, however, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Abeokuta Correctional Institute for Boys, pending when he is able to meet the bail conditions and adjourned the case until October 25, for a mention.
Earlier the prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence at No. 20, Folarin St., Surulere Lagos, on Sept. 16.
She alleged that the accused stole a motorcycle valued at N170,000, belonging to a neighbour, Jerry Peter.
Osayande said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Oh, what a child!
